A central premise of this book is that homosexuality—and sin in general—is not a simple lifestyle "choice" for those who are unsaved. Instead, the author characterizes it as a form of spiritual captivity orchestrated by the devil through what the Bible calls the "spirit of iniquity" or the "law of sin". But freedom can be found in Christ Jesus once a person receives salvation.
